Wounded Longings explores internalized homophobia through the interplay of desire and shame. Drawing from Queering Desire and Lesbian Fetishism in Shohini Chaudhuri’s Feminist Film Theorists, the project interweaves narrative elements with interactive mechanics to examine how shame regulates queer desire. Reflecting de Lauretis’s notion of fetishism as disavowal "I don’t have it, but I can/will have it" the game positions desire within what Foucault describes as a “perpetual spiral of power and pleasure”: a mechanism where repression and incitement are intertwined. Players navigate between homophobic and lustful expressions, exposing how normative power structures not only constrain but actively shape desire. The game fosters critical reflection while maintaining ludonarrative coherence.
